GREAT BRITISH FOOD
Canteen, the award-winning all-day British diner, continues its considered expansion plan by signing its fourth restaurant. Canteen Canary Wharf is set to open autumn 2009 in the Canada Square Pavilion, an under-construction addition to the retail amenities at Canary Wharf.
The 3,338 square feet restaurant will offer booth seating, the new ‘Canteen’ bistro table, a bar area and covered out-door seating with wonderful views of Canada Park Square. The restaurant design will reflect Canteen’s signature modern, democratic and welcoming style.
“We are genuinely excited to sign our fourth site, Canary Wharf, maintaining our considered approach to Canteen's expansion”, Patrick Clayton-Malone, Canteen’s co-founder
Canteen serves high quality British cuisine at great value prices and gives customers ultimate flexibility with an all day menu offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. Canteen’s mission is to raise the standard of British food on the high street, it currently serves between 5,000 – 7,000 covers a week, it is a high volume, high quality restaurant that never compromises on the quality of their ingredients. Canteen works directly with some of the UK’s best food producers, all its meat is ethically sourced; its fish is supplied from day boats on the South Coast and everything is made fresh in the Canteen kitchens including all jams, chutneys, cakes and ice-creams.
Camille Waxer, Vice President of Retail at Canary Wharf Group plc, welcomed the signing, saying:
“It is important for the number of top-quality dining options at Canary Wharf to keep pace with the anticipated growth in workers and visitors here over the coming years.
