This July Canary Wharf Arts & Events will present Park Sounds , five days of great musical entertainment showcasing fresh musical talent from new and emerging artists on stage in Canada Square Park and taking the form of a competition.

From Monday 21st to Thursday 24th July a dazzling array of musical styles, from indie to jazz, classical to folk will provide lunchtime entertainment, between 12 noon to 2pm, each act doing their best to secure as many as votes as possible from the audience in order that they can make it through to the grand final on the evening of Friday 25th July and have the chance to become the 2008 Park Sounds winner. Gibson Guitars are supporting the event and will be supplying a guitar as one of the prizes as well as giving each of the finalists a tour of the Gibson HQ.

From Monday to Thursday five acts will perform a 15-minute set with one from each day continuing to the grand final on the Friday evening. The audience will have the chance to vote online when the performances finish each day on www.parksounds.co.uk . All voters will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win £100 Canary Wharf Gift Cheques.

On the evening of Friday 25th July , each of the four finalists will play a 30 minute set with a panel of four judges, including a representative of Gibson UK, a special guest judge and a representative of The Wharf newspaper, selecting an outright winner who will then perform an encore.
