180 CHILDREN SET OFF FROM CANARY WHARF ON A MAGICAL TAXI TOUR

Cabot Hall at Canary Wharf today served breakfast to over 180 sick children before they set off for Disneyland, Paris in a convoy of Hackney Carriages. Over 100 cabs left for France to give ill children the trip of a lifetime. Now in its tenth year, this charity event gives sick children a break from therapy and treatment.

This unique trip is organised by The Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers (CHCD). The big breakfast send off was attended by The Lord Mayor of the City of London, his Sheriff and their wives as well as Tommy Walsh from Groundforce. The huge buffet breakfast was served to nearly 500 people including doctors, nurses, helpers from the hospitals, police officers, paramedics, sponsors and, of course, the taxi drivers themselves.

Robert John, Advisor to Canary Wharf Group, said: ‘Canary Wharf Group is greatly honoured to host the breakfast for the tenth Annual Magical Taxi Tour to Disneyland Paris. It stands out as one of the real highlights in our events calendar.’
