| A third retail mall will be opening to the public at Canary Wharf at 12.00 noon on 18th September 2003. 38 shops, bars and restaurants will open at Jubilee Place, an additional 89,500 square foot retail mall. The grand opening spans the 18th – 21st September and welcomes such prestigious (lookalike!) guests as Posh & Becks, Geri Halliwell, Naomi Campbell and Patsy & Edina from Ab Fab, not to mention the Paparazzi that is always hot on their heels. The opening weekend will also have a selection of live music, from jazz to Caribbean steel bands, as well as entertainment acts roving around the area, such as stilt walkers and street theatre. Marks & Spencer Food is the anchor store for the new mall and will be selling food and selections from its Per Una range. Other additions to the estate include Karen Millen, Whistles, Wagamama (its largest store to date), LK Bennett and Molton Brown (full list attached). Camille Waxer, VP of Retail at Canary Wharf Group said: Canary Wharf Group can also announce that it has exchanged contracts with Caffe Nero, the continental-style coffee house, for 2028 square feet in Jubilee Place. The mall can be accessed via the Pavilion in Jubilee Park which
is behind the Jubilee Line station entrance and from Heron Quays
DLR station. |
