| Canary Wharf Group plc’s Public Affairs team has commissioned Docklands based design consultants, Aqumen Ltd, to produce the Group’s first Community Strategy publication. The aim of “Community Outreach” is to define the key elements of Canary Wharf Group’s community outreach strategy and activities from 1988 to the present. Canary Wharf Group plc is firmly committed to working with the community to maximise the quality of life, education, employment and business opportunities for local people. Since the development at Canary Wharf began in 1987, the Group’s community involvement has spanned a wide range of issues including education, employment, health, business development, arts, leisure and sport. The brief was to produce an informative, visually pleasing and readable pack that would have a long shelf life. As a part of Canary Wharf Group plc’s ongoing environmental policy, it was important that the finished product, while retaining quality and durability, should reflect Canary Wharf Group plc’s commitment to environmental issues. To achieve this, Premier Papers’ Evolution Satin, a quality recycled stock, was used for the content pages, with the binder manufactured from 75% recycled material to minimise impact on the environment. The use of a die-cut & hand finished binder, with a press closure helps make the product more tactile for the user. Aqumen’s Managing Director, Paul Wilkins said, “It was an involving experience working with the client on this. They listened to our advice throughout and have an end product of which all are justifiably proud”. Canary Wharf Group’s Local Business Liaison Manager, Gay Harrington
said, “Aqumen is registered on our Local Business Liaison Office
(LBLO) database. It is our policy to use and promote local suppliers
of goods and services wherever possible and this is another occasion
when a local company has delivered the goods with excellent collaboration
and maximum efficiency.” |
