| Canary Wharf Contractors Ltd (CWCL) was today presented with a certificate for operating a Quality Management System in line with the international standard, the ISO 9001:2000. Neil Hannah, Managing Director of the British Standards Institution (BSI), made the presentation of the award to John Pagano, Managing Director of CWCL. ISO 9001:2000 is accepted worldwide as the main standard for quality management and CWCL is certified to the latest version of the standard which was revised in 2000. The certificate was granted after an extensive audit and Canary Wharf Contractors will now be subject to revisits from BSI every six months to ensure it is maintaining the required level of management. BSI was chosen as CWCL’s certification organisation because of its worldwide reputation for setting high standards. Neil Hannah at BSI said, “We are delighted that Canary Wharf Contractors chose BSI to be their certification body and we are very proud to be working in partnership with such a high profile professional business. We are most impressed with the development of the Quality ethos within the Canary Wharf Estate – the quality of the buildings, facilities, communications - the working environment and the excellent standard of services and amenities and look forward to developing the partnership for many years to come.” John Pagano said, "Throughout our development of Canary Wharf
we have focussed our efforts on ensuring a quality product and
we are proud of the high standards of our buildings and services.
We achieved this by thorough attention to detail at all stages
of design and construction, by the diligence of our supervisory
staff and by refusing to compromise on standards. Now, by adopting
ISO 9001 as the basis for our management system we have added an
extra level of discipline, which will benefit us and our clients.
Above all it is the end product that counts and our fundamental
objective remains the quality of our buildings, the services and
the infrastructure at Canary Wharf.
