Canary Wharf Group Chief Executive George Iacobescu welcomed the introduction
of the Crossrail Bill into the House of Commons.
“Canary Wharf Group has been a staunch supporter of the Crossrail scheme which will revolutionise travel across the capital. “This is an important step along the way towards completing this project, but is only the first formal step. “Now we look forward to the Bill progressing quickly through Parliament and to the funding being finalised so that this system can finally be built.” Notes: The Bill to authorise construction of the Crossrail scheme is expected to be deposited in Parliament on February 22. Crossrail is a new railway line linking London on an East-West axis, passing
through the Thames Gateway, Canary Wharf, the City and the West End, and
Paddington and Heathrow. |
