CANARY WHARF GROUP WINS ROSPA SECTOR AWARD
Canary Wharf Group has been presented with the Facilities Management Sector Award for Health & Safety by RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) at an awards ceremony held on 18th at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel during Safety & Health Expo 2005, the UK’s premier health and safety at work exhibition. This award is an even greater accolade than the Gold award CWG received last year.

The RoSPA Awards, sponsored by CEMEX, are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work, they are also about ensuring that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place. They help to reinforce the message that good health and safety is good business and they clearly demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area.

More specifically, Sector awards are given for the best safety performance within any one sector. The competitive sector awards are presented annually for the most outstanding performance in health and safety by a company or organisation within a particular industry sector. Entrants must demonstrate four years of consistently excellent or continuously improving health and safety performance together with exceptional standards of health and safety management..

Graham Moon, Group Fire and Life Safety Manager at Canary Wharf Management Ltd, said, “To improve upon last year’s Gold award by being hailed as the top facilities management company for Health & Safety this year is very gratifying. Canary Wharf Group works hard to maintain a consistently high standard of health and safety and also endeavours to improve its performance and to build on its successes. The award shows RoSPA’s recognition of this and we are extremely pleased to receive it.”
