CANARY WHARF’S CHARITY GOLF DAY RAISES OVER £7,000
A Golf Day held in the Summer at the East Sussex National, organised by Canary Wharf Group, has raised £7,740 for charity. Tony Partington, Managing Director of Canary Wharf Management Limited, presented Marcia Dart, East Sussex Fundraising Manager of Macmillan Cancer Relief with the cheque last week.

Over the past five years Canary Wharf Golf Society has raised over £30,000 for various charities with support from sponsors and tenants.

Marcia Dart said:
“ Macmillan Cancer Relief in East Sussex is currently funding three nurses, a doctor, patient grants, a cancer carers project and an art therapist. This money will greatly help our endeavours to provide support to people living with cancer and their families and we are very grateful to have been chosen as this year’s charity.”

Tony Partington said,
“ The Canary Wharf Golf Society started from humble beginnings and has now become a regular event going from strength to strength. We are very pleased that it is continuing to grow and that it is able to support such worthwhile charities as Macmillan Cancer Relief.”

Over 100 participants took part in Golf Day 2004 and in order to build upon this success even more are invited to take part in 2005. The day is open to anyone that works at Canary Wharf. For further information on taking part please contact Stuart Walker on 020 7418 2510.
