Viva La Dance! returns to the East Wintergarden on 7 April 2011 to celebrate the steamy, hot blooded Tango.
The event includes a dance tutorial from professional dance instructors Doni Fierro and Liz Bayley and live Latin music by acclaimed musician and composer Maurizio Minardi and his quintet.
“It may well be Canary Wharf’s first ever Milonga,” says Sian Astrop, Arts & Events Manager at Canary Wharf Group plc. “People can Tango by candlelight under the magnificent glass roof of the East Wintergarden or simply come to watch and soak up the atmosphere.”
Described by the Londonist blogger as “infinitely more fun than you would imagine,” Viva la Dance! explores different styles of Latin music and dance, with exciting live music and simple instruction.
Tango night follows on from the hugely popular launch event on 3 March, which saw the accomplished Doni Fierro and Liz Bayley lead the crowds in an expert Salsa tutorial. Those new to Tango need not be intimidated as the duo will be on hand again all evening to break down even the most technical of steps.
A complimentary glass of bubbly is served on arrival and a range of South American food is available to purchase.
